Amplifon, the world’s largest distributor of hearing aid technology is searching for a Director of Payer Strategy & Contracts to transform our organization’s relationship with third party payers as a trusted global partner.

In this role, you’ll build strategic, proactive relationships within payer organizations in the US and Canada (to start) and negotiate terms to maximize reimbursement.  You’ll also monitor existing payer contracts to fully understand and ensure compliance with the terms.


You can read payer contracts in your sleep and understand the terms; effectively communicating the impact for Amplifon to cross-functional teams will be paramount to your success.  


Organization and attention to detail are mission critical as you create a matrix for existing contracts to easily see key data for each payer making sure Amplifon is reimbursed properly.  Your ability to balance tactical and strategic skills will ensure your success working through existing and future agreements. 


Collaboration should energize you, as you create efficient contract processes with other departments (Patient Financial Services & Sales/Marketing).  High-level strategic leadership skills, not just technical management skills, provide significant advantages as you oversee projects. Lastly, you should relish ambiguity and working through it to define project scope, coordinate teams & timeframes, and implement/monitor action items.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or related field. An advanced degree (MBA) would make you a VIP candidate
  • 7-10 years of experience negotiating and managing contracts with payers or health care services
  • Health plan, diagnostic solutions provider or related experience creating and implementing effective payer growth strategy


Skills & Systems requirements:

  • A self-starter who can work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with all levels of employees and articulate concerns concisely and effectively
  • Strong influencing and partnership skills
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize several projects at a time. Experience with project management or PMP certification is a plus.
