As the Director of Procurement, you’ll lead progressive sourcing strategies and alliances that save money and maximize value from vendor partners. You’ll also have a strategic seat at the table and will share best practices with colleagues from all over the world.

Responsibilities

You have a rare opportunity to build a regional procurement function from scratch. Mapping the current state of purchasing, both direct and indirect will help you create categories and prioritize projects. You are naturally curious and will dig deep to solicit/discover the information you need.

 

You are a fierce negotiator and relish pursuit of the best value while maintaining a positive business relationship with vendors. Once a contract is signed, you’ll keep their feet to the fire and make sure contract terms are being followed and service level agreements are met.

 

Our top candidate will look beyond their own lens and collaborate with internal customers to find obfuscated ways to protect the bottom line. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with business leaders, the global procurement team, legal teams, product management, finance, and operations is paramount.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or equivalent
  • Because this is a new and highly autonomous role, 10+ years of experience in direct procurement and supply chain management is required
  • Success in achieving tangible savings for an organization
  • Experience planning and implementing large-scale, company-wide procurement initiatives
  • Entrepreneurial aptitude with a commitment to internal customers
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
